Hello everyone.
Just a short message but i noticed when researching my family, when John Thomson moved to England from Scotland, his subsequent marriage certificate lists all the family as Thompson. i was wondering if this happened when relatives moved between other countries. I am aware that often, names were written as they sounded & so many Thomsons legal documents recorded them as Thompson.
