hi folks, does anyone know how we go about altering our ancestor's name in the yDNA signature table at http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/patrick/results? My son put the wrong ancestor name in [p-16]. It should be William Patrick, and he doesn't know how to change it. It is totally confusing the way it is as nobody in a lifetime is going to recognise it. The misunderstanding may even have happened when he was doing his test, i really don't know as i don't know what questions he was asked or what he'd to fill in. Can anyone advise me?

Iam resaerching the Patrick family of Mechanicville/Stillwater,NY area. My earliest decendant I identify in the 1850 census for James Patrick 37 and father born in NY, married to Margaret 36. daughter Ann 18, son Thomas 14, Mary 12, sons Christopher 10, William 7, James 5, and Manly or Barney 2. 1855 census states Margaret is remarried to a William Vernam and both are widowed 4 years. From James son Thomas Patrick 9/15/1835-1/30/1897 thru a direct line of decendant via Albert Millard Patrick 8/5/1858-12/18/1938, Thomas J. Patrick 6/11/1880-1/8/1948, Albert T. Patrick 3/11/1913-2/2/1983 all born in Mechanicville Stillwater. Obviously the Patrick name is well documented in this area but I have yet to figure who this James belonged to, I suspect Ebenezer is James father, but no proof please help.

I only make the odd visit to our FT DNA site now because it is clear that not a single Patrick matches ours - none one that has used their service anyway. :-(

I've searched for other forms of the name, MacPatrick, Kilp~, Kirkp~, Gilp~, Patrickson, Fitzpatrick & even MacLaren but so far no luck. The MacLaren's don't seem to have their results anywhere on-line unfortunately. It's a bit disappointing, but, heartening to see the Patrick DNA numbers gradually increasing on the DNA project page. maybe one day we'll be lucky :-)
