I apologize but I'm new to this and I'm looking for R1B ancestors.  I just received my 46 marker DNA from Ancestry.com and I'm looking for any matches.  I am researching the MURPHY family (see my pedigree posting today) in Kentucky, USA.

Jack,

It looks like you are R1b1b2 and have a typically Irish-looking haplotype.

You should post over in the R1b1b2 Forum: http://www.worldfamilies.net/smf/index.php?board=2203.0

I hate to tell you to spend more money, but you should become a Family Tree DNA customer, even if you only order a 12-marker kit, so you can join FTDNA projects and also so you can have the Deep Clade-R test to find out to which subclade of R1b1b2 you belong.

I'm guessing you are L21+. Check out the R-L21* Map at the link in my signature below.

Please go to YSearch.org and create a YSearch entry for yourself: http://www.ysearch.org/

YSearch enables you to search for matches and others to find you as a match. Don't forget to write down your YSearch ID and password and keep them someplace safe.

I'd love to figure out how to start.  The info I received is essentially a list of numbers.

Can anyone help me start out to make heads or tails of this?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with your sequence format.

Are your numbers from 32&me results?
