I belong to a surname group (Jennings) and my YDNA is presently being tested. I have posted my Jennings pedigree, and also note that my paternal grandmother is listed under another surname group. Would it be helpful or appropriate to post my connections to that surname group as well ?

Yes, if you have a connection to a family surname and have useful information and a pedigree, it is very helpful to other researchers to post that pedigree on the surname project's pedigree forum.  If you know the paternal lineage of your grandmother, that would be most useful.  You might have just the piece of information another researcher is looking for!
