Pat Burkett Stempski
My mother is H6a1a and my father is H6a1a2b1. I know that I only inherited my mother's MTDNA; however, it is quite curious that both of my parents share the same ( believed to be very rare in European populations) MTDNA since they are not related in recent times. Their tests and mine were done on Geno 2.0. Both of their maternal lines are PA German and I loose track of the family lines around 1800. I'm wondering if this MTDNA is more common in certain religious communities--the Amish, for example, or the Menonites?
I'm looking for other H6a1a's not to find ancestors but to see if it is possible to find a geographic pattern out of our results.
