My surname is obviously Crawford, But my Grandmother's maiden name was Fields, Our Fields family come from a village in Co Donegal called Lifford, I have taken a Y-DNA test through FTDNA in Texas USA, The test I took was the 111 marker test, My results came back as R-M269 which is of European origins, I then took another backbone R-M343 test to trace back further into my DNA's earlier ancestry, This result came back as R-Z156, This Haplogroup, it's connected to R-U106 which is the descendant of the major R-P25 (R-M343) lineage and is found from Eastern Europe to its highest frequency in Central Europe and the British Isles.
My new test results also show that I have positive matches to the others listed below: U106 R-U106 Z381 R-Z381 Z156
I then took an autosomal test through Ancestry and their results came back saying their:
5% Europe West
+ 2 other regions
Another graph says that I'm 100 % European, this percentage is broken down as follows:
Ireland 90 %
Europe West 5%
Trace regions 5%
Trace regions are:
Great Britain 2%
Europe East <1%
Countries which my DNA test results relate to are:
Rep Ireland, Northern Ireland, All of Britain including Islands, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Northern Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, West Poland, Southern Denmark, Southern Sweden around Copenhagen, Northern Italy, Northwest Hungary, Northwest Slovenia & West Slovakia.
I was told through the Clan Crawford Association that my R-M269 DNA result is associated with R1b1a2a1a1b4 & L21
