i don't know much other than his name is robert franklin tate, his mother i think is francis tate and his father maybe franklin tate. i have an older brother, richard allen tate, he has a daughter, amber raelene tate and a son, chad allen tate, and a grandson, logan. my dad last resided in silverton oregon where his mother passed away. my name is karen leeann tate and i will add more when i find my birth certificate. i want my brother to do the dna test, if i took it too could you determine if we share a father?

Hi Karen

The DNA tests associated with deep ancestry look at the mitochondrial DNA  which everyone has but which is inherited from your mother, and the Y-DNA which is inherited from the father, but only males have a Y chromosome and Y-DNA.  I assume you are  from your name that you are female, so no, this type of DNA test wouldn't help.

There are different DNA tests which look at different genes and chromosomes.           Similar to paternity DNA testing, you want a sibling DNA test.  A few websites to look at are:
