The name Posey appears as a middle name in some of my ancestors surnamed Padgett.  The family lived in several states during the 1700s and 1800s, including  Rutherford County, NC, Chester District, SC, Jackson County, AL, and Ouachita County, AK.  I have heard there was a close relationship between the Poseys and the Pagetts down through the years and would like to learn more about both families if anyone who has any information.
