I'm Michael Walsh. I'm a project administrator on the Walsh and Welch FTDNA projects.
The web sites for these projects are here:http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Walsh/http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Welch/
One challenge we have are the several variants of essentially the same surname. Walsh, Welsh, Welch, Walch and Welshe, among others, are really are variants of the same name. For that reason, and because of the lack of analytical ability in on the project screens, I've consolidated both sets of project data into one single spreadsheet.
This is stored under the Files menu at this Yahoo Group.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Walsh_Welch_Welsh/
You are welcome to join and download the file. It is in a Microsoft Excel format, but people have been able to use it with OpenOffice.org's free spreadsheet tool as well. The Yahoo group does require that you join, but you do not have to use your regular email ID to join. You also have a variety of message options since the group really is a message board. If you don't want to receive emails you can just "Edit membership options" and click on the "web only" viewing option.
There are a large number of Walsh/Welch/Welsh/Walch paternal lineages that aren't really closely related. It is very important for people to test out to at least 37 Short Tandem Repeat (STR) markers, but (much) preferably 67 markers.
