Hello we're looking for more information about my maternal grandmother's family... and wondered if anyone here shares any of these relatives...

Gladys Marie Hodge 1910-1984, was born in Lincoln County WV to William Edward Hodge 1886-1968 and Francis Arix 1889-1974. William was born near Blains Island in Kanawha County WV to...

Madison Crockett Hodge 1854-19?? and Edna Ann Bayes 1864-1948. Madison was born in Mercer County while it was still part of Virginia to...

George Hodge 1827- 1??? and Elizabeth ? 1827-19??. George was born and died in Mercer County VA/WV. George was the son of Anderson Hodge 1808- 18?? and an unknown wife.

Anderson Hodge's father is unknown, thought to have moved to Mercer County from North Carolina. We know Anderson had at least three siblings:

John Hodge was born about 1814 in Virginia and died sometime after 1880 in Wayne Co WV
Preston Hodge was born about 1817 in Virginia, and died sometime after 1880 in Cabell Co WV
Stephen Hodge was born about 1826 in Virginia, don't know where or when he died...

John Hodge/Hodges in Wayne Co WV was married in Henry Co Va but I think you know that.  What is the evidence that he was the brother of Anderson, Preston and Stephen?

Anderson sounds like it may be Major Anderson Hodge b. 1808, who lived in Grayson. Smythe and Wythe Counties in Virginia and Ashe County, NC. 

Is Stephen the Stephen in Putnam Co., WV?

At this point in my maternal line research... i am relying on family tradition handed down from a great uncle I've only been in contact with in 2006... he's been sending me details told by his parents.... 

I didn't know... he didn't relate that John Hodge was married in Henry County VA...
