I am seeking information about James Reed Porter, Alan Drum Porter and Page Porter. They moved to DC.about 1918.  Alan was on the Byrd expedition to the North Pole, James Reed Porter was my grandfather. Nancy (Nan)  A Porter was my mother. Patricia Ann Porter(Carrico)  is an Aunt. She had a daughter named Dawn who attended Georgia Tech.

There is also evidence that my maternal line of Porter's came from Pa, then on to West Virginia. From there to Florida Dade County and finally Washington, DC.

Alan was born I believe in DC, and Clara Porter, born in West Virgina, was the mother, which would have been my great grandmother. James Porter,  Grand Father, born 1899 in Pa.

Also I believe that some came from Pa. Also there is evidence of West Virginia, and 2nd Street, Washington, DC is good as well as Arlington, Virginia.

Page Porter (deceased) has a son Richard, wife Merle all in Suburban Washington,D.C. (Maryland). Merle was from West Virginia,

James Reed Porter born 1899 also has a daughter Patricia Ann Carrico, now living in Fairfax, Virginia, daughter Dawn, married name unknown.

I realize that this seems somewhat sketchy but it's what I have at the moment.

Thanks for any help as well as Good Luck in your journey as well!

Jim Porter
