New J to forum!

Hi. I'm new to the forum, and I would like to share my "J" information with you.

I am have haplogroup J with Snps= J12612 (not sure what this means) and HV1 sequence 16069T, 16126C, 16274A, 16319A.

I noticed that all of us seem to have the first two mutations in common. Maybe we are all some kind of cousins??

I was tested in the National Geographic Genome Project. My information has also been added to the Family Tree DNA site.

If we have the same snps, and Haplogroup, wouldn't that indicate very close ancestors? I'm not sure I understand what the snps means. But, I'm wondering what part of the country do you live in?
