Hi Paul, et al.

We use Ancestry.com in my family, and do all DNA testing through there because we like the direct links to our common ancestors.

I notice that Ancestry does autosomal DNA testing, and this site uses Y-DNA.

It appears that I can upload my ancestry.com results, but I'm curious as to how well it will work.

I have planned to ask my Burns uncle to spit in a tube for me, but really would prefer to use Ancestry if possible.

Thanks for any insight you have to share,

Staci,
It is my understanding that Ancestry does not test for yDNA. It used to but found it unprofitable, so dropped that test. Our Worldfamilies project is yDNA only.

Once you transfer your autosomal DNA from ancestry and pay the $39 fee, the FTDNA system works well.
