We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down.

In 1237 King James I and his army moves from west to east, from the Kingdom of Aragon to the Moorish kingdom of Valencia. When it comes to Alcublas conquered the city and, probably, as residents leave people with the surname Rivas.

In 1609, after the expulsion of the Moors that took place in Spain, two men (and, problably, with families) living in Alcublas whose name is Rivas (Rives, Ribes), and another people, they move to reside Soneja to replace those expelled, because Joseph Folch Cardona grant "letter of colonises" by deed before a notary in 1609, where appear the two men coming from Alcublas, Valencia, Spain:
Jaume Ribes, who receive land and house in Soneja, Castellón, Spain.
Jerome Ribes, who receive land and house in Soneja, Castellón, Spain.
