We strongly encourage you to add your family information (we call it "Pedigree") to the project’s Patriarch Page, so that others may find you.  To have your pedigree posted on the project’s Patriarch Page, there are two ways to submit your pedigree:

1.   Send the pedigree by email directly to carrie@worldfamilies.net in the simplified form described below  (If you send it this way, your pedigree will only be posted on the Patriarch Page, and will not be included in the Pedigree Forum)
Be sure to include

a.       the email address you wish to be posted with the pedigree

b.       the kit number of the project participant whose pedigree this is

c.       The name, birthdate, birthplace, and spouse for each generation in the direct male line.

2.   Post your pedigree on the Pedigree Forum.  Then the project administrator will manually add it to the Patriarch page, typically within a few days. To get to the Pedigree Forum: Click the “back” button to find the Orr Family Pedigrees thread (You must be logged in to post on the forum.)

Has anyone seen this Orr DNA study? It was done by the McGregor clan when they decided they wanted to know their roots and apparently the Orr line is ancient! It extends back predating surnames in haplogroup R1a, and also that this "Ellusive Pre-Orr" may actually tie into some royal lineages directly & mostly all related. Here's a couple links I found:

http://www.clangregor.org/macgregor/dna92005.html

and onother one that has an interesting blurb about Margret Macgregor & Donald Campbel =146 & 147 (long since believed to be the founders of our Campbel & McGregor clans after Robert the Bruce reclaimed the throne. They were related to him and Robert to the ancient kings, or the dragon lineage. I don't know how legit this total pedigree is as it boasts back to Adam & Eve w/royal lineage almost entirely, but what interested me was the part down a way where it mentions the Bruce, Campbel & Macgregor lines, which are historically true, as is most of, but whether or not it belongs to this person who posted it, Idk.

It'll be interesting to see what this study says and if tied into those lines via the Campbel/Macgregor link. I'm an Orr too but not allowed to submit DNA as our family has agreed not to (I know, I know, sorry =( ). When I see a family member I recognize on here I'll add my pedigree. I guess the Orr line extends well past the Patrick dude though. Lots more info on the Mcgregor site about the Orr line R1a. I know I fall in there somewhere.

What I can add to help as I wont post my name & info w/out family permission is
last known ancestors for my line are:

William James Orr 2/6/1862 to 1949 (Immigrated from Scotland) lifelong freemason so they may have records in Glenrichey or Currwensville Pa) married to
Minta/Mintie (Read) Orr 10/1/1872 to 12/27/1941

^They had William James Orr (Mason too) Married to Zelda Houpt, who had
^^John/James (?) William Orr, then came
^^^Fredrick James Orr (Mason, deceased)
^^^^Theodore William Orr (present)

Not many girls I guess. That's all I know about my ancestors. Hope it helps
