Given the exciting new results that show a descendant of William FAIRBAIRN and Jean WANLESS as an exact 37 marker match with the descendant of Archibald FAIRBAIRN and Mary GRIERSON, and a 36/37 match with the Archibald FAIRBAIRN and Alison CROSSER, they are presumably all of the same family. I should very much like to hear from everyone who can help solve the puzzle of exactly where William (and by inference, brother David who married Jane WILLIAMSON) fits into the lineage that is being built up as a result of all these unexpected matches popping out of the woodwork.
And given that previously it has been mooted that William's father was a descendant of John FAIRBAIRN and Helen ANDERSON, anyone who can comment on how exactly that relationship works as well.
