We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down.

If you ARE A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, send your pedigree by email to WorldFamilies.net at mari@worldfamilies.net.  The pedigree will then be posted on the Surname Project's Patriarchs Page by Worldfamilies.net or sent to the Project’s Administrator.

Please include the following:
•       Name of project
•       Kit Number
•       Name of person posting pedigree
•       Email address to be posted with pedigree
•       Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
•       List each succeeding generation, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

(If you have more information you would like to share, you may also post a more extended version of your family pedigree on the project website’s Pedigree Forum below)

If you are NOT A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, you are welcome to post your pedigree on the Pedigree Forum below.  We hope an interested researcher will see it and contact you to share information.

I'm sorry I can't post this information on the patriarch page.  We make it a rule not to post anyone with a birthdate after 1910 for privacy reasons.  We would be happy to post any information you may find on ancestors born before 1910.

              Me:  Sonia Vazquez, 1942 Mayaguez,PR.
           mom:  Narcisa Acevedo 1913,Yauco,PR, 201,NY.
         grnma:  Gregoria Acevedo Rivera Santiago,1879-1919,Maricao.
     grtgrnma:  Maria Rivera Santiago,1835,Maricao-?.
     grtgrnpa :  Marcelino Acevedo , 1836  Maricao,-?

It seems that Maria Rivera Santiago and her sister, Anastacia Rivera Santiago, were Santiago on their mothers side, due to the order in which the names are written.

My great grandmother (maternal) from Puerto Rico was:
..Herminia Santiago Y Perez. She was from Junca, Santa Isabel born about 1890.
..Her husband, my great-grandfather was Pedro Acosta Y Sanches, also from Puerto Rico, Junca Santa Isabel. He was born around 1876
Their daughter, my maternal grandmother also from the same town in Puerto Rico was:
.. Amada Acosta de Santiago, was b.1918-d.1996.
..Her husband, my maternal grandfather was:
..Rafael Rodriguez de Garcia b.1910 d.2001. They were both born in Puerto Rico.

I have taken the mtDNA test with Family Tree DNA, and have been assigned the Haplogroup A, not surprising to me. Since I am a woman, I cannot test the Y-DNA, but I would like to find out more.  I am trying to find info for our family tree, such as Sephardic ancestral towns in Spain, where most of my family originated from before coming to Puerto Rico. Blessings to all.
