By comparing the Y-DNA results of various individuals with the paternal surname LEAL, I had already come to the conclusion that not all LEALs share a common paternal ancestor (see my message on this forum ?Do all LEALs share a common paternal ancestor?).
I have now also reached the conclusion that not all LEALs from Colombia share a common paternal ancestor.? I do so on the basis of the fact that the Y-DNA results of two individuals who have ancestors from Colombia (one being myself) do not match (a genetic distance of 15 on 12 markers compared).? It concerns:
1. a descendant of LEAL, Nepomuceno, from Ortega, Colombia, born appr. 1860 and died appr. 1925 (Haploroup R1b); 2. a descendant of LEAL, Cruz, from Ubaque, Colombia, born appr. 1820 (Haplogroup J2f).
