I'm researching the history of the Negro Creek Cemetery in Rockcastle County, KY. On the family tree with "John Fisk" as the #1 ancestor I found the following:
EXCERPT BEGINS: 8. Wiley Bennington Fisk (Rev.). Born on 24 Oct 1817 in Mt. Sterling, Montgomery Co., KY. Wiley Bennington died in Caldwell, Coffey Co., KS, on 1 Oct 1896; he was 78. Buried in Caldwell Cemetery, Caldwell, Coffey Co., KS. Occupation: Minister / Lawyer.
Abt 1835 when Wiley Bennington was 17, he first married Julia Franklin Spratt, daughter of Andrew Spratt & Mary Pauline Tipton. Born on 3 Jul 1818. Julia Franklin died in Negro Creek, Rockcastle Co., KY, on 10 Mar 1855; she was 36.
They had the following children: 13 i. Mary E. (1836-<1946) 14 ii. John Robert (1839-1923) 15 iii. Wiley R. (1842-1926) 16 iv. James F. (1845-~1865) 17 v. Julia Ann (1848-) 18 vi. Martha K. (1850-) 19 vii. Henry Andrew (1856-1905) 20 viii. Lavina Jane (1853-1926) END OF EXCERPT I'm interested in finding out where Julia Franklin Spratt Fisk is buried and what documentation there is available that she died in Negro Creek, Rockcastle County and if she is supposed to be buried in the cemetery there?? Any information on her burial would be much appreciated. Thank you. V A Benge
