My father's name is William Henry Schlichter - born 1916 in New York.  His father an immigrant to this country in 1906 from Germany (Willy Henry Schlichter - an import exporter, fur and feathers) Willy was born in Germany 1881.  I have little info of anything prior to that, cant get through maybe info has been lost due to war.
Willy was married to H. Marion Bartz prior to immigrating to US (New York).
My father was the first generation in the US - after WW2 and Korean War he retired from Army and lived in Mexico - where I and my brother were born.  My mother is Mexican.  I have just had my brother's DNA test sent to National Geographic and as soon as it's ready we'll have more info that we can probably join to other programs.
If any of this info sounds familiar to anyone who can lend the missing pieces, it will be greatly appreciated.
