I'd like to mention several important books to read or get a hold of if your ancestors come from the
British Isles including: Albion's Seed: Four British Folkways in America, by David Hackett Fischer,
The Tribes of Britain by David Miles, and The Isles by Norman Davies.
DNA, historical, archaeological and other research have led to major changes of interpretation
in regard to British ethnic origins during the last 10-20 years. Once it was automatically assumed
that the Anglo-Saxons wiped out most of the Native Britains, but this assumption has been
proven wrong. Native Britains not only survived but also coexisted with the Anglo-Saxon
invaders. Furthermore, most male Britons are descended from Native Britons and not
Anglo-Saxon invaders. See the following article titled: British have Changed Little Since, Ice
Age, Gene Study says from National Geographic 19 July 2005. No one is disagrees that an Anglo-Saxon
invasion took place but the numbers involved and the scale of the invasion is in dispute.
