Hi -
My mtDNA HVR1 result from Family Tree DNA was 069T, 126C, 390A which classifies me as a J*.
I had no mutations in my HVR2 results.

From all that I have read, I can see that the 069T, 126C are common to the J root lineage, but what about the 390A?

Where is that coming from and how can I find out more about it?
Family Tree did say that I was 1% Native American. Does that have anything to do with it?

Thanks to WFN poster Judith Alef, got my HVR2 results:
73G, 185A, 228A, 263G, 295T, 315.1C, 462T, 489C

Still not seeing any matches on any sites except my mom :-)

I am a J* with HVR1 of 069T, 126C - no 390A.   My HVR2 test results are coming in mid-January.  I have a couple questions - if anyone has any insights into these issues, please let me know.

1.  A J* can have HVR1 of (069T, 126C) or 069T, 126C, 390A).  Are there any other variations included in J*?

2.  Piia Sirk's paper (http://www.utlib.ee/ekollekt/diss/mag/2004/b16664851/Serk.pdf) doesn't mention finding anyone in the sample that is J*.  All the samples are classified either J1 or J2 or subgroups of those two.  Does that make J* realy, really rare?  It also appears to make J* closer to JT than to many of the J subgroups.  Are there any people who test JT?  Is there any information about where/when they think JT split into J and T?
