We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down.

Here is an example of a pedigree.  The rule of thumb is not to post about anyone born after 1910, and by all means never post information about living people.  As it happens, my Bigsby grandfather was born 1907, and is long deceased, so I will stop with him.

Project:  Bixby Surname Project
kit number:  N/A (I don't have a Bigsby donor in my immediate family)
Person submitting pedigree:  Teresa Coffman
email address for contacting:

Joseph Bixby (1621-1701) m. Sarah Riddlesdale

Jonathan Bixby (1670-1717) m. Sarah Smith

Elias Bixby (1706-1793) m. Eleanor Andrews

David Bixby (1746-1778) m. Mary Millard Claverack County, New York, USA

Jonathan Bixby (1773-1853) m. ?

Franklin Albert Bigsby (1821-1894) m. Rebecca Jane Gallimore  Shell Rock, Iowa, USA

Benjamin Merritt Bigsby (1875-1911) m. Bertha James  West Liberty, Iowa, USA

Herbert Benjamin Bigsby (1907-1942)  m. Mildred Freers  Muscatine County, Iowa, USA

If you descend from Joseph Bixby of Ipswich, MA, the putative "Adam" of North American Bixbys, and have access to the Bixby lineage book by Willard Goldthwaite Bixby, it would be helpful to also post the Bixby ID numbers from the book for your ancestors so the rest of us can more easily track your line through the book.   So, for my line:

Joseph Bixby  1
Jonathan Bixby  18
Elias Bixby  186
David Bixby  1869
Jonathan Bixby  18691
Franklin Bigsby18691.N
Benjamin Bigsby 18691.N6
Herbert Bigsby (not in the lineage book, but his ID number would be 18691.N61)
