We invite you to post your "Pedigree" on this VA-1600s Geographical DNA Project page.?
Click
HERE to go to the VA-1600s Geographical Project website.
Note: this project is only open to those families that trace their pedigree into Virginia in the 1600s.?
Simply click "Reply" and type in your pedigree information, then click "Post".? ?(note, if you will "Register" as a guest, you will have edit privileges on your own postings.? If you post without registering, you will not be able to "modify" your own postings.)
1. You can provide your paternal ancestry, your maternal ancestry or both.? While you are welcome to post your pedigree up to about 1900 (we don't like to list the living), we will only transfer the first few generations to the Patriarch and/or Matriarch pages.? Terry's pedigrees are listed below as a reference.
2. This info is meant to provide enough so that another researcher can recognise your family and contact you, and is NOT a place to list all you know.? (if you have lots of info you want to share, you should contact us privately about how to send it)
3. Keep to one line per generation.? Please abbreviate and DO NOT provide more data than we ask.? We want the ancestor, their birth date and birth place and their spouse's name.? It is also permissable to note when they arrived in Virginia - if you know that detail.? (We DO NOT want the married date & place, the death date & place or the spouse details UNLESS that is the ONLY way you can show they were in Virginia) The idea is to only provide enough info for someone to recognise your family.
4. On Patriarch pedigree, only include generations that have this family surname
5. On Matriarch pedigree, keep in mind that the surname will change every generation.? Stop it when it is no longer carried down by a daughter.
6. Please keep the information simple and don't try to "Format" it, as that will only make more work for us.
?
7. You need to provide your name and email address, so that other researchers can contact you.
