I ordered and submitted the mtDNA kit last year.  I have many matches. known that  I can figure out.  I will be upgrading, soon,  to find my sub-clad.  Does anyone know anything about this?

I have also ordered the "sub-clad" test and am still awaiting the results. Apparently, it narrows your connections so that they are closer in time. I hope it is worth the $75.00 that I paid.

You can get tested at many places.
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 1.www.familytreedna.com
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 2.nationalgeographic.com-has a genographic test
For more places search this web site, they used to list the myriad places where you can get tested.I can't remember them all.Go to www.worldfamilies.net and click on? maternal DNA -MtDNA or read that whole page and see if it mentions where else you can get tested.I think the prices vary from $99-$350 for regular testing. And $1000 to test your whole female genome, which also tells you of medical conditions you may or may not have.

My results from my "sub-clad" test were: H6a. I don't think this has helped much. My HVR1 and HVR2 results: 16129A; 16519C; 263G; 309.1C; C15.1C

I also have been recently tested thru FTDNA.......and a lot of this info is more complex and confusing, as I am new to this aspect of genealogy, having done some research by the "paper trail" which is confusing enough!

My results are;  Haplogroup H, H1

              HVRI                HVR2
            16169T            263G
            16241G            315.1 C
            16519C

My results seem to show the Celtic influence, ( Scotland, (mother & family from Aberdeen, Islay), Ireland, England), with strong Norway aspect.
Fascinating!

Looking forward to discussions with this group.

Hello everyone.  Just found out (by a mtDNA test taken by my biological full brother) that my mtDNA Haplogroup is:  H11 (H11a to be specific).

Will have to upgrade the results just a bit more... to find out more detail.  One of these days I can confirm it by taking the same test myself... but as there is no doubt we share the same mother... I'm not in a hurry, and can spend my money on some other tests.

My mother's maternal line has it's deep origins in Germany and Scandinavia.  Any other mtDNA H11 people out there?
