Welcome to the Pedigree Forum for the Bishop Surname Project!
Project’s Website: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/Bishop/
[Navigate to all pages of the project's website using the links across the top of the page.]

Posting your pedigree allows it to be seen by interested researchers who may contact you to share information. It’s a great way to further your research.

Each project website includes both a FAMILY PEDIGREE FORUM and a PROJECT’S PATRIARCH PAGE.
Please Note: Our Pedigree Policy was revised as of November 15, 2012, for WorldFamilies-administered Project Patriarch Pages

The FAMILY PEDIGREE FORUM (below) is open to anyone who has a family pedigree in this surname.
• Researchers who are not a member of the Surname DNA Project, but wish to share a family pedigree.
• Project Members who wish to post a more extended version of their pedigree to supplement the “stripped down” pedigree posted on the Patriarch Page.

The PROJECT’S PATRIARCH PAGE http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/Bishop/pats includes only the pedigrees of Project Members.
• The pedigree must be for a Member of the Surname DNA Project at Family Tree DNA.
• You must provide a kit number to be posted with the pedigree.
• You must submit your pedigree by email to carrie@worldfamilies.net
• The email should include the following:
   # Name of project
   # Kit Number
   # Name of person posting pedigree
   # Email address to be posted with pedigree
   # Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
   # List each succeeding generation below, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

Please replace the Patriarch entry for "George Bishop" (that I earlier submitted) with the following:

William (b.1612, Asfordby, Leicestershire, England), m. 1637 Ann or Annis (unk.).

William (x. 1642, Asfordby), m. 1667 Ann (unk.).

George (x. 1664, Asfordby), m. 1688 Mary Morris.

George (b. 1704, Asfordby; removed to Redmile, Leicestershire), m. 1731 Elizabeth Peak.

George (b. 1734, Redmile) (d. 1804, Redmile), m. Mary (unk.).

John (b. 1774, Redmile) (d. 1809, Remile), m. 1798 Sarah Snow.

John (b. 1801, Redmile; removed to Nottingham) (d. 1872 Philadelphia), m. 1822 Ann Dennis.

William George (b. 1834, Nottingham) (d. 1900, Philadelphia), m. 1854 Christianna S. Kremer.

Thanks, Kent Bishop

Here's the pedigree for PatriciaFisherHamill .  It was originally posted in a different part of the website at http://www.wfnforum.net/index.php?topic=5901.0 .  I have created a copy of it here as well:

Valentine Bishop b. 13 Feb 1817, Haigerlock-Weidorf Germany d. 16 December 1900 Allegany Twp, Cambria County, PA
is my GG Grandfather.  I would be interested in hearing of any DNA testing of his descendants.   My line follows:
GG Grandparents: Valentine Bischop/Bischoff & Cordelia Haid
G Grandparents: Thomas Bishop & Matilda Jane Flick
Grandparents: Cyril John Fisher & Mary Jane Bishop
Father: John Joseph Fisher & living
I have had my brother as a proxy on this Fisher line the kit #42736
Thanks,
Patricia Fisher Hamill

The first three generations are not proven by documented research, but circumstantial research strongly indicates my genealogical link to these three men.

1. Hans Wilhelm BISCHOFF (b. About 1690-Mittelbach, Zweibrucken, Palatinate, Germany; d. About 1779-Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.)

2. John BISHOP (b.12 Dec 1746, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; d. About 1819,  Scott County, Virginia.

3. Thomas BISHOP (b. About 1779, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania ;d. About 1842, McMinn County, Tennessee.)

[From #4, John Bishop, below, I am able to prove through the U. S. Census and other records, my direct lineage.]

4. John BISHOP (b. About 1800, probably Scott County, Virginia; d. After 1860, Union County, Georgia.)

5. Alfred McKinney BISHOP (b.28 Aug 1832 Scott County, Virginia; d. 11 Jan 1900-Republic, Greene County, Missouri.)

6. James Taylor BISHOP (b. 30 Nov 1881, Gaddistown, Union County, Georgia; d. 24 Feb 1954, Pawnee, Pawnee County, Oklahoma.)

7. Everette Glen BISHOP (b. 30 Jul 1904 Lela, Pawnee, Oklahoma Territory; d.13 Sep 1967 Ponca City, Oklahoma.)

8. Loyd Morgan BISHOP (b. 9 Mar 1938, Ponca City, Kay County, Oklahoma.)

Please replace Sherman E. Bishop as patriarch..was a mistake. Probably related by not a direct ancestor.
Oldest known is Hiram Bishop d. 1882 or 1875 at age 84. Married to Anna Corselius.  Their son was Henry Bishop  b. 2/25/1827 d. 9/17/1891 m. 1850 to Harriet Peake. Thier son was Harvey E. Bishop b.  1891 d. 1907 m. to Meriba Geer b.  9/23/1895 d. 4/ 1939.  Their son was Miles H. Bishop b. 1884 d. 1959 m. to Fannie Angevine b. 10/15/1873 d. 9/11/1958.  Their son was Harvey L. Bishop b. 4/115/1925  d. 10/28/1995  m. to Mary A. Melia b. 9/27/1927  d. 2/12/1995.  Their son was Robert M. Bishop b. 8/10/1956 m. 1/26/1980 to Joyce Kilpatrick b. 6/28/1953.
