Barton adoption by Fowler family

After learning of possible paternal links to Barton family members through y dna testing, I found several old post (from late 1990s) on the internet about Fowler family stories repeating that some Barton children were adopted generations back.  I have not been able to make contact with the persons making the post because the email adresses are no longer valid.  Anyone have anything to share on the subject.
