William Severs l752 married Catherine Peck l793 in Montgomery Co VA . She was born about l770
Jacob Peck Severs born l809 Anderson Co TN lived in Breckinridge Co Ky
Daniel Hugh Severs
John Byrne Severs
Hugh Barret Severs l908
Charles Byrne Severs 1933
I am curious about the Barton family as the Lamar family of WIlliam Lamar born l770 Botetout Co VA intermarried with Mills and Severs and Barton and would like to know any other Barton connection to Severs or Sevier as I am unaware of any Severs connection with Sevier

Balmer Severs b. in Phila. PA. Joshua's father, based on the Census was David H. Severs b. Ohio about 1812 married to Hannah Britton Severs b. Ohio. My Question: Is there any connection to an English Branch Severs Family? I did connect my Mother, May Severs, to a German Branch of Severs, although my mother never mentioned German background. thank you Jim D.

I note the posting for William Thomas Severs born Dec 1850 by Lorryload40at Yahoo.com and married to Angeline Tiller
born in Anderson Co, TN
I have a group beginning with Daniel H Severs born l802 in Anderson Co TN and married in Roane County. There was a son who lived in Alabama and born about 1830 who married a Lucy Tiller. I wonder if it is not possible that your William Thomas Severs is related to that group of Severs or to her Tillers and be in the same family.
I am at S9359338atAOL.com if you will contact me. He is likely desc from John W Severs , Daniel H Severs, or Stephen B Severs all from Alabama except Daniel H is born l802 in TN.
Could I have a look at the DNA test you submitted on Severs. Mine is kit 27800 Charles Severs

Pedigree for Elizabeth Taylor Kit#173945

John Severs, b. c 1820, IL; m. widow Lucinda Gilliam (maiden name unknown)

Albert J. Seffers, b. c 1857, Independence Co. AR; m. Anne/Anna (maiden name unknown)

James R. Coleman Seffers, b. 17 Mar 1880, Sharp Co, AR, d. 4 Mar 1920, Craighead Co, AR; m. Irene Moran

Notes: 1) Albert J. Seffers, b. c 1857 died between the 1880-1900 census. He and his two orphaned brothers changed spelling to Seffers.  After his death, the other two brothers switched to spelling the surname Sefers. 2) John Severs, b. c1820 may have been dead by 1860 since he was not in the home with wife and sons 3) Although the parents of John Severs are unknown, he appears related to the Abram Severs (b.1820, IN) family of Jefferson County, IL, since Abram and a related Breeze family member seem to be raising two of John’s older children born in AR from a previous marriage (Sarah and James) on the 1860 census. It seems extremely likely that the John Severs line in AR and Abram Severs line in IL (if tested) may share a common male ancestor.

From an email sent by David Cate [davidjcate AT comcast.net]:

"I do not have Sevier blood, but am casually interested since I had ancestors in Western North Carolina, the “Lost State of Franklin”, and Tennessee during John Sevier’s life.

The new Pope, plus some roaming around the Basque and Navarre histories, brought out the cousin relationship between the Jesuit Francis Xavier and the Huguenot Sevier family. It might be advantageous to add the Xavier family to the Project.

Indeed, while we think of France and Spain as strictly Roman Catholic, King Henry IV of France was raised in the Huguenot Navarre nation, and issued the Edict of Nantes. The 1685 Revocation by Henry IV’s grandson Louis XIV, officially called the Edict of Fontainebleau, led to what might be called the Second Huguenot emigration."
