Hello everyone!? My husband recently donated his DNA sample at FamilyTreeDNA, for the group of Eisenhart/Isenhart/Isanhart.? His results were quite a surprise to us, as he matched 36/37 markers to "John Royal Black".? I have noticed that his daughter Melody Black, has already posted the information she has on this family.? I was wondering if anyone has any information on William Farmer Black's father and where they may have come from.? The DNA matches say that we shared a common ancestor 300-500 years ago.? My husbands 3rd great grandfather was Jacob M. Isanhart, born 1769-1770.? We feel that Jacob's grandfather or great grandfather would have been the person that was a "Black" and somehow either being orphaned, adopted, or by a marriage took on the Eisenhart/Isanhart name.? Any help that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.? Even any suggestions would be very helpful.? Thank You for allowing my posting.

From there things go sideways. I have not been able to pin anything down.

I have been searching my line for almost 20 years and this is the farthest I have gotten. There is a family tradition of coming from a place in Scotland called Knockdown. Knockdow in the Lamont territory is the closest that I have been able to find and the DNA seem to point in that direction.
