Just joined this forum.

I've been researching my family tree since August of this year with some success. My Mum is a Thompson her people are from the Lynn Indiana area since the mid 1800’s. Below you'll find her Father's line starting with  my GGG Grandfather Robert. Here is where the trail grows cold. If anybody out there recognizes any one here, please email me. If there is any info I might have that you need I'll be happy to share. I have a tree on Ancestry.com (Marchand/Thompson) and it is public. Some data I have confirmed but not all so Caveat Emptor!

Is anyone else related to the Waxhaw/Lancaster SC Thompsons?

I am only aware of one male Thompson in my line:

ISAIAH THOMPSON (birth date and place unknown--probably Northern Ireland or Lancaster, SC), died after 1821 in Lancaster, SC (will written in 1820)

m. Mary Ann Lesslie (birth and death dates unknown; she probably died in Lancaster, SC).  Her parents were John Lessley (c. 1732-20 Nov 1804) and Mary Hutchinson (maternal aunt of President Andrew Jackson)


My line won't be of much use to this project--I descend from their daughter Agnes "Nancy" Thompson (1783-1817 of Lancaster, SC) who married Nathaniel Craig (1784-1826 of Lancaster, SC).  In his 1820 will, Isaiah Thompson mentions two sons: JAMES THOMPSON and JOHN THOMPSON (married Sarah ????; their eldest son was WILLIAM THOMPSON).
