apologies, I had posted this in the wrong section:

Hi - posting my pedigree. There are way too many "Ryan" relations to include on this so I am keeping it to the direct line in each generation, ie, my father, his father, then his father (my grandfather) etc and not including siblings/uncles/granduncles etc, some of whom emigrated to the US. In our family the eldest son has always been called John Patrick Ryan so these are all different people. The area of Limerick we are from is where most Ryan's in Ireland originate, therefore every family takes a second name to distinguish them. We are known as the Ryan "Bawn's".

John Patrick Ryan b. 1764 d. 1796 buried at Abington, Co.Limerick, Ireland. m. Ann <unknown>. They had one son.

According to the register of Tullamaine, District of Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland... 
 
My oldest known relatives were my great grandparents William Ryan and his wife Catherine, who died Nov. 15, 1879.  I have no birth date for either, but assume they must each have been born between 1840 and 1845, since their first children were born in 1866. (These were twins who died within days of their birth.) Their oldest child is recorded as born toward the end of 1879, which suggests Catherine may have died in child birth.
 
Catherine's own surname was Ryan as well...as it was a very common name in that part of Ireland. And her maiden name is recorded on the birth certificate of Richard Patrick Ryan (see below).
 
William and Catherine's address was "Racecourse Commons" in the Cashel area of Tipperary.  William was a farmer.  Their surviving children were:

Richard Patrick born February 1, 1871
Mary Anne born February 20, 1873
William born May 14, 1875
John (Jack) born May 26, 1877
Agnes born October 22, 1879
 
There is also a Cornelius Ryan, known as "Con," who emigrated to the U.S. and arrived in New York February 15, 1882. Passenger records indicate that he was born about 1854 and died in 1901. He is part of the family, but exactly what, I am not certain. 
 
Both John/Jack and Cornelius/Con had sons named William.
 
My grandfather was Richard Patrick Ryan (above) who was born in 1871.
 
He married Ellen Cecilia Ryan, who was the child of Patrick Ryan and Mary Ahern, who had six children: Ellen (who was born in Wallingford, CT, on November 28, probably in 1873 or 1874), Mollie, Winifred, Agnes, John and Philip.  (Yes, the mother Ellen's surname was also Ryan, and of that I am certain.)
 
Ellen's parents Patrick and Mary Ahern Ryan came to the U.S. after their got married and settled in Wallingford, CT.
 
My grandfather Richard Patrick Ryan and Ellen Cecilia Ryan had nine children, four of whom died as babies or children.  Those who died young were Richard, Raymond, John and Vincent.  Surviving children were: William, Francis, Marion, Cyril and Catherine, whose name later evolved into Cathleen.
 
My grandfather Richard Patrick Ryan came to the U.S. in 1887 and owned Ryan's Ice Co. in East Harlem, Manhattan.
 
Catherine/Cathleen Ryan married William Ewen and had two children:  William and Barbara.
Marion married Edward Fullerton and had three children: James, Edward and Ellen.
William married Florence O'Brien and had two children: William and Richard.
 
My father, Cyril Richardf Ryan, married Margaret Glennon and had three children: Richard, Philip and Michael.
