We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for the Adair Family Project Patriarch page. (You don’t have to be a test participant to post your family pedigree.)

There are two ways to make your pedigree available to the project administrator for posting on the Patriarch Page:
1.  Send the pedigree by email directly to carrie@worldfamilies.net in the simplified form described below  (If you send it this way, your pedigree will only be posted on the Patriarch Page, and will not be included in the Pedigree Forum)
Be sure to include

                 E
mail address you wish to be posted with the pedigree
Kit number of the project participant whose pedigree this is
                 N
ame, birthdate, birthplace, spouse for each generation (direct  male line).

2.  Log-in to post your pedigree on the Pedigree Forum.  By posting your pedigree on the forum, you are making it available for the Project Administrator to post it on the Patriarch Page, along with your contact information, and kit number (or code identity number).

  1. You must be logged in to post on this forum.
How do I register to post a pedigree?
I've already registered. How do I log in?

  2.  Please include your Kit number or Code Identity number if you have been tested for the project.

  3. Please read the following instructions, then scroll down to the last posting on this forum and click "reply" in order to post your pedigree.

  4. The pedigree for a Surname Project follows your paternal line.  Please post only the information for each generation:

Full Name of Earliest Known Male Ancestor for this Surname
His birthdate
Birthplace
Spouse’s name

(If you are missing any piece of this information, post another bit of identifying information)

Suggestions for Posting your Pedigree on this forum:

o        Post four pieces of information for each ancestor

o        Begin with the earliest generation

o        Use standard abbreviations:  m=married, b=born, d=died, c=circa, Co=county, VA=Virginia, GA=Georgia, etc

o        Try to keep to one line per generation

o        Include only generations that have this family surname

o        Provide your name and email address as the pedigree provider

o        Provide the kit number and/or project code identity number if pedigree is for a tested participant

o        Use surname with each generation

o        Don’t use all caps

o        Don’t include anyone whose birthdate is after 1910, for privacy concerns.

o        Don’t number the generations

Scroll down to the last posting on this forum and click "reply". Post your pedigree in the box provided, and click "Post".

If you do not see a"reply" tab, it means you have lost your log in and will need to log in again in order to post. Go back to the project home page, log in again, and return to the pedigree forum. Login should hold the second time.

Hi, Earl,  I posted your pedigree on the Patriarch page.  Hope you'll join the DNA project, if you haven't already.

This is from J2_Adair, and it was posted in the family forum at http://www.wfnforum.net/index.php?topic=6491.0 .

Family story according to my great aunt Louise Barbara ANDREW:
Her grandfather (my great great grandfather) was surnamed ADAIR (Scots-Irish) living in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in mid-19th century, employed as Pinkerton guard, married? (had child with) a Miss HALORY, and then died/left? His son (my great grandfather) took his adopted father's surname William H ANDREW, went to college in the eastern US with friend Eugene Ashton LONGLEY, and became traveling salesman coming to St Louis Missouri 1892-1895.
I have had several y-DNA studies (Ybase = ZTUX6, Ysearch = NQHG8) not matching any ANDREW or ADAIR indicating haplogroup J21b (formerly J21e). Any information would be appreciated...
Clifford George (ADAIR) ANDREW.

There is an Adair line of interest to me that has interchanged the Adair and O'Dair name. The web address below will show an extensive line of these adair odairs from early North South Carolina and Virginia circ. 1730 to 1840.

http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/o/d/a/Donald-K-Odair/FILE/0015page.html

I am looking for a male descendant of this line for the purpose of a DNA test. This is the only O'Dair line that has not been tested if indeed its not O'Dair and is adair. There is some history of this line being in Pennyslvania along where other O'Dair lines lived.

Hi, gumbys.  Thank you for your interest in the Adair project.  We typically do not post anyone born after 1910 on the patriarch page for privacy reasons, but if you have any earlier information, we would be glad to post it.

Thanks and good luck with your research!

Clifford George (ADAIR) ANDREW.

I now have additional information on this: Louise Barbara ANDREW's grandfather (my great great grandfather) was Luther G ADAIR. He was married to Elizabeth Reyburn WHEELER on 24 Jul 1862 in Boone Co IN. They had a son (my great grandfather) William H ADAIR born 14 May 1863 in IN.

However they divorced and she remarried Edwin A ANDREW on 5 Sep 1871 in Boone Co IN who legally adopted William on 6 Jun 1881 in Clinton Co IN and took his stepfather's surname as William H ANDREW. Luther G ADAIR removed to Eugene Lane Co OR on 25 Sep 1873 and died there 24 Oct 1909, buried in Lee Mission Cemetery in Salem Marion Co OR.

Luther G ADAIR was one of seven children born to Henry ADAIR b c1800 in Maryland and Elpha GROVER b c1803 in New York. They lived in Ohio between 1825-1832 where their three first children were born prior to removal to Battleground Tippecanoe Indiana around 1833.

Any information on Henry ADAIR and Elpha GROVER would be appreciated.

Armel F. Adair, b 1812 Kentucky m Eliza Jane Craig
William Wesley Adair, b 1847 Mississippi m Alameda E. Watkins
Rial Armel Adair, b 1870 Henderson Co., Tx m Claudia O. Burgamy
J. Purifoy Adair, b 1815 Henderson Co., Tx m Bethel Barbara Clayton
