I am searching for Mary Ann Barton wife of Robert Speer who immigrated from Ireland in December of 1768 (stated age 24 and single) and was granted 100 acres of land in present day Newberry Co. SC - signed on 03 Apr 1769. ?Robert sold the land on 12 Sept 1774 at which time he was married to Ann. ?"Newberry County, South Carolina: Historical and Genealogical Annals" by George Leland Summer, Sr ?Newberry County, South Carolina: states she was Mary Ann Barton. ?The marriage is also mentioned in a Quaker record for that period.

We did a few searches at the Barton Database and weren't able to identify your Mary Ann Barton.  There are no Robert Speers in there and 47 Mary Ann Bartons.

There are over 22,000 names in the database and it is all online.  If you want to do some searches yourself, please go to:
