We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down.

If you ARE A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, send your pedigree by email to WorldFamilies.net at mari@worldfamilies.net.  The pedigree will then be posted on the Surname Project's Patriarchs Page by Worldfamilies.net or sent to the Project’s Administrator.

Please include the following:
•       Name of project
•       Kit Number
•       Name of person posting pedigree
•       Email address to be posted with pedigree
•       Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
•       List each succeeding generation, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

(If you have more information you would like to share, you may also post a more extended version of your family pedigree on the project website’s Pedigree Forum below)

If you are NOT A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, you are welcome to post your pedigree on the Pedigree Forum below.  We hope an interested researcher will see it and contact you to share information.

My maiden surname is Valle. However, I believe the original surname was del Valle  and our branch comes from Cienfuegos , Cuba.
Both my father and grandfather were born in Cienfuegos. My father was Francisco Valle Pineda(mother's maiden name), born 11/30/1913.. My grandfather, an only child,  was Francisco Valle Martinez. His mother was born in Spain but I do not know where - perhaps around Barcelona. My father's mother was Dolores Pineda, also born in Cienfuegos, Cuba.
My mother , Gisela Mariana Revuelta (Muguerza) was born in Havana, Cuba. Her father was Agustin Reveulta and her mother was Ofelia Muguerza. The Reveultas come from
Santander, Spain. My grandmother Ofelia's family is also from Spain but I do not know from what area.

Hi, Sylvia.  I posted your grandfather's information on the Patriarch page.  Good luck with your research.  Hope you are part of the DNA project.

Hi there,

My Valley family started, as far as I know, in Ogdensburg, NY, when a Canadian mariner (my adoptive great-great-grandfather) stationed his family at that port and got himself killed, leaving a mother to raise a great deal of children in the late 1800s.  My great-grandfather, unfortunately, was adopted, but family legend has his biological father as his eldest brother (by 18 years) off of a native girl.  Apparently, illegitimate children at the time were typically given over to a church and then re-adopted back into the family to save face, but keep family close.

All of that is conjecture and legend, of course, as the most I have is a mysterious birth certificate with some conflicting names from a church where they, to this day, speak only marginal Engilsh mixed in with a healthy amount of French.

I've documented my great-grandfather, here:
http://www.thevalleyfamily.org/getperson.php?personID=I601063026&tree=fitzvalley

Here's my relationship.  As you can see, if he really is a Valley, I have a DNA trail that will be relevant to your study:
http://www.thevalleyfamily.org/relationship.php?generations=25&altprimarypersonID=&savedpersonID=&secondpersonID=I1&tree=fitzvalley&primarypersonID=I601063026

...but if he isn't a Valley, would this DNA test tell me that?  I'm also interested to know if the testing would allow me to make a connection to whatever Native American or Canadian tribe donated the genes on his mother's end.  I know for a fact that he had at least a 50% NA background, as he attended a grade school for children of all NA or mixed backgrounds (it was fashionable at the time to "white"-ify children).

Thanks for any help anyone can pass along.
