Jerry,

Before posting your Bauer pedigree, I would appreciate it if you would explain all the question marks.  You can contact me at strong@nantucket.net.  I would have written you directly, but you have chosen not to reveal your email address.

Elinor, I've posted your pedigree to our Patriarchs' Page.  It would be great if you could find a direct male descendant of your Henry Bowers to participate in our DNA project.  Unfortunately, male descendants through a daughter of Henry will not carry Henry's Y-DNA.

Walmar, your Bowers pedigree has been posted to our Patriarch Page.  I hope you are able to recruit a Bowers from your line for our DNA Project.  It would be nice to have more PA families represented, since it appears that was where so many Bowers of German origin got their start in America.

My brother has had some DNA work already done for medical 'markers'.  Would this be of any use?  Jean

Jean, medical genetic testing does not test Y-DNA, which which is what is useful for genealogy.  Your brother would have to order a new test kit from Family Tree DNA.  For details, see http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/b/bowers/rec.html.
