I know my ggg grandfather, Thomas Carney, was born in 1789 near Nashville, N.C.  He traveled to Edwards County, Illinois in his early twenties. I've seen that homestead. In 1843 he traveled to Barry County, Missouri. I've seen that homestead. My father, grandfather, great grandfather and gg grandfather lived there. I am Benjamin Franklin Carney III. I do not know where Thomas lived in N.C. I do not know his father's name. No proof has surfaced regarding any relation to the John and Thomas Carneys of Stafford Co., Virginia. Can anyone help?
