We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down.

If you ARE A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, send your pedigree by email to WorldFamilies.net at mari@worldfamilies.net.  The pedigree will then be posted on the Surname Project's Patriarchs Page by Worldfamilies.net or sent to the Project’s Administrator.

Please include the following:  (If you have more information you would like to share, you may also post a more extended version of your family pedigree on the project website’s Pedigree Forum below)
•       Name of project
•       Kit Number
•       Name of person posting pedigree
•       Email address to be posted with pedigree
•       Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
•       List each succeeding generation, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

If you are NOT A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, you are welcome to post your pedigree on the Pedigree Forum below.  We hope an interested researcher will see it and contact you to share information.

I am new to this board and am interested in any information related to an ENCARNACION CASTILLO.  His full name may have been JUAN Encarnacion Castillo.  I don't know much about him other than our oral family history which claims that he was born either in Mexico or Spain and probably died in Texas or Louisiana.  It is also claimed that he owned 45-145 acres of land in Louisiana.  At some point he had a child with a woman named Carlota Tellez/Renteria/Rosas.  It is possible that he had other children and/or other wives as well.  EZEQUIEL CASTILLO, Sr. is the only child I am aware of Encarnacion and Carlota having together.

Encarnacion Castillo b. Mexico or Spain, d. Texas or Louisiana
Ezequiel Castillo, Sr., b. 29 FEB 1896 in Mexico or Texas, d. 20 OCT 1971 in California
Ezequiel m. Rebeca Barrera/Guajardo, Ezequiel and Rebeca had the following children:
Eduardo Castillo b. 4 JUL 1920 in Houston, TX
Joel Castillo b. 29 MAY 1923 in Houston, TX
Ruben Barrera Castillo b. 3 AUG 1925 in Houston, TX
Rudolfo Valentino Castillo b. 27 DEC 1927 in Houston, TX
Lorene Alice Castillo b. 27 MAR 1929 in Houston, TX
Edmundo Mario Castillo b. 28 NOV 1933 in Houston, TX
Ezequiel Castillo, Jr. b. 2 SEP 1934 in Houston, TX
Francisco Humberto Castillo b. 9 MAR 1937 in Houston, TX
Raquel Castillo b. 10 APR 1938 in Houston, TX
Maria Luisa Castillo b. 12 OCT 1940 in Houston, TX

The RootsWeb.com site lists an Edmond and an Encarnacion Castillo who owned land in the Hatchitoches parish of Sabine County, LA prior to 1908 and more specifically about 1889.  Apparently Edmond owned 70.6 acres about 1853 while Encarnacion owned 160+/- acres about 1889.

Would appreciate any help, tips or leads regarding any of the Castillo individuals listed above.  Please e-mail: mccollum211@msn.com
