We have found no actual docutmentation that William Green John is the son of Daniel John of Hancock and Houston County, Georgia.  But according to various research Daniel is the most logical individual to be his father.  There are documents in the Houston County records which link Daniel to John M. John, who we believe to be the brother of William.  "Daniel is believed to be the son of Zephaniah John of N.C., GA, and TN.  Again - no definite proof document has been found linking these two together, Zephaniah was the son of David and Mary John, and that relationship IS supposedly documented.

(area was later in Hancock Co, GA)

and is listed on the Tax List of Hancock Co, GA in 1794, 1795 & 1796

Before moving to Washington Co, GA and was later part of Hancock Co, GA;
Zephaniah John lived in Mecklenburg Co, NC

Zephaniah John's son Daniel was born 1775 in Mecklenburg Co, NC.


And yes, Zephaniah John is documented being son of David & Mor (aka Mary) John.
Zephaniah is named as a son in Mary John's Will written and probated in 1777 Mecklenburg Co, NC

Zephaniah had brothers named: Joseph, David, Daniel, Benjamin & Roger.
