My name is David Kent and I am new to the group.  My oldest known Kent relative is William Kent, born November 15, 1777, Somersby, Lincolnshire, England.  I obtained this information from an old family bible.  I have tried to find Kents before this but am hitting a brick wall.  It is like this family dropped into Lincolnshire from somewhere else (yet to be determined).

We have traced our Kent line back to Thomas Kent born 1730 in Talbot County in Maryland, USA. I would like to go further back. This Thomas Kent family had five boys and one girl. We come down through Isaac that  was born 1755. His wife was Rebeca. We come down through one of his sons John, John had a son named Giles. Seaborn Booker Kent  to William Carroll ( my grandfather) to Lea Kent my father. My name is also Thomas. I am 89 years of age.

   Thank you for making the post.  I have since received my Haplo designation as I-1.  It seems like the other Kents are all K-#.  Should this designation be listed rather than my kit number?  Just wondering.  Thanks again!

I have made the correction to your pedigree.  In regards to your other question, the K-# designations are numbers that we used to assign to our members as a way to correlate pedigrees to results.  We no longer assign these numbers but have kept the ones that were already there.  Now we just use kit numbers as it doesn't generate as much confusion.  I hope this clears things up.
