I would like to see a McClure Z253 group starting as it’s as far as anyone not of our surname goes.  Not discounting 111 STRs.
Bruce McClure and I, of Ohio Andrew McClure descent, have worked down to our private SNP, our haplogrouping can be described with FGC3251 being private and FGC3221 being shared by Robert David McClure of Belfast, (as):
R1b-L21>DF13>Z253>FGC3222>PF825.2>FGC3221>FGC3251
Quoting Dr. Thomas Krahn, “Once you have worked out the proper tree phylogeny you can easily follow the mutations down to a relatively small circle of closely related persons.”

FTDNA has really given us a nod.  The new Z253 SNP Pack, all SNPs downstream of Z253 @ $119, includes mine and another ancestor of Andrew McClure's, b. 1771, private SNP which probably only Project admin William McClure (also an ancestor) would have.
As I understand it though there should be 6 definite matches for McClures within 10 GD of me or more depending how closely related.
Before this I tested Big Y.  $500-600
Before Big Y I tested Full Genomes  $1250
Before Full Genomes I tested Nat. Geo. Geno2.0

One competitor explains it well, with me Z2222 way down at the bottom right to my private SNP Z3251.
