I was trying to figure out how to make use of my Chromo2 Y-DNA data, and it occurred to me that it might be good if I could compare my results with those of someone who is S116+/P312+ but L21- in order to eliminate all the clutter north of S116/P312. Fortunately, Jacques Beaugrand, who is U152+, posted his Chromo2 positives in the U152 subforum at molgen.

I compared his to mine the old-fashioned way, by printing them out and eyeballing them, SNP-by-SNP, without benefit of a computer program or utility. I might have overlooked something, but I tried to be meticulous and careful.

I am R1b-S524 (S116>S145>S521>S524), FTDNA Equivalent: R1b-DF41 (P312>L21>DF13>DF41).

Here are the SNPs for which I am positive that Jacques does not have among his positives (of course, S145=L21, S524=DF41, and S836=CTS2501):

I mentioned above that I had compared my Chromo2 y-dna positives to those of Jacques Beaugrand, who is S28+/U152+, in order to eliminate all the stuff up to and including S116/P312.

Here is the list of Chromo2 SNPs I share in common with Jacques, all or most of which should be upstream of and including S116/P312. It is possible that there is a SNP between S116/P312, L21 and U152 that we share with Jacques, but pursuing something like that is not what I am interested in. I just wanted to eliminate all the shared SNPs to get at a set I could compare with the results of other L21+ and especially DF41+ men without having to go through the whole list of Chromo2 positives again and again and again.

I did my comparison without the aid of a computer program or utility. I just eyeballed the results and compared them SNP-by-SNP. I could have made an error or omitted something, so you may want to double check my work.

Keith Wheeler and I have been comparing our Chromo2 results by email. Keith is S521+/DF13+ but negative for all the thus-far-known SNPs below it. That enabled us to create a reference sequence of everything upstream of and including DF13.

If you are L21+/S145+ and have Chromo2 results, please post the positives here so we can make some comparisons. Just copy and paste your positives. You can do that from your "Genetic Signature" page if you have BritainsDNA "myDNA" pages. If you just got the raw results, you may have to type out your positives first.

If you do post your list of positives, please say to what subclade of L21/S145 you belong.
