On a standard autosomal test, if someone were to have significant East Asian results even though they have no known Asian ancestry, would it be safe to assume that the EA results are actually Native American? The person I am referring to is of partial Northern Mexican ancestry.
Could the East Asian markers actually be signs of Athabaskan ancestry since that particular group came from Asia much later than the rest of the ancestors of most Native Americans?
