Could someone review the use of the * asterisk, typically used with SNP designation.
I saw a thread on this before but I don't know what to search for.
L21* versus L21** . DF13* that sort of thing. I cannot tell if it means a terminal SNP or if it means there are further SNP's downstream. I am DF13 and negative for a downstream SNP's.
Does this make me DF13* ?

An asterisk designates this is your terminal SNP, however testing all downstream SNPs under L21 has become increasingly hard over recent years so people have started using ** to indicate they really have tested to the limit.

Thank you
That clarifies things greatly
So for me to say I am DF13** would be appropriate.

You said "I am negative for a downstream snp"...did you mean you are "negative for ALL downstream snp's"

Without a doubt, though I don't think I'm far behind you and it looks like there's going to be a few more SNPs under DF49 in the not too distant future : )_

I read and just checked on that there were nine SNPs which are located at approximately R-M222. That will have to be sorted out thats for sure. Crazy... since there has been one since M222 was discovered, what six years ago or more?

Yes I meant negative  for all downstream snp's below DF13. Yes $$ could work as well. I also took the Geno 2 test which failed to produce any new results. Upon recommendation of my L21 group I recently tested snp  L 1335 but have not received any results back even though it was due today.

Why do I get the feeling that cherysun is a spammer in sleeping?
