New to forum...Just got FTDNA Deep Clade Results...P312+ U152 L2+

Hi all,

I was waiting to post until I had the results back from my FTDNA Deep Clade test.  Just got them today and my paternal line is:

P312+ L2+ L20- L196- which is 
R1b1a2a1a1b2a on ISOGG 2012,  or R1b1a2a1a1b3c on FTDNA.

I joined FTDNA's "R-U152 and Subclades Research Project" today also.

I've searched for matches on FTDNA and have no matches at 67 markers and the closest at 37 markers are 6 steps away.  Plenty of close matches at 25 markers though. 

On Ysearch, my closest match at 67 markers is a genetic distance of 14, one of which is also a U152 (Zentmyer). 

I've got some rare results at the DYF395S1 loci.  I've looked through a lot of data and haven't come across anyone who has the same DYF395S1 results:  My DYF395S1a=11 and DYF395S12=15.  Ysearch doesn't even have an option to select 11 for DYF395S1a, so I either leave it blank or chose 12 when I search for matches.

My paterrnal line is only known to my great grandfather, Edward Leopold Mitchell, born in London, England in 1893.  He was born illegitimately to Elizabeth Margaret Mitchell (her father was born in Montrose Scotland).  Edward Leopold's father is unknown.  I'm hoping DNA testing will eventually solve this family mystery.

Once your order is batched, you will see a batch number and an "expected" date posted under Pending Lab Results (clickable from your myFTDNA home page whenever any orders are outstanding). Batches are usually created every Wednesday. The expected date is usually pitched around the 7 week mark, but with individual SNPs tests I have had results within 2 weeks, and one came back within 1 week.

I guess it depends on how busy their lab is at a particular time, among other things.

In later comments about Wells's presentation and the Geno 2.0 test Bennett said that the GenoChip will report on FOUR new SNPs downstream from M222. Great news for us Northwest Irish.

All my SNP tests have mostly taken less than two weeks.  However Delton's Z36  test, kit N4630 has been waiting what seems like months.  I would love to know what batch his test is in?

Just placed the order.  How long does it typically take to get the results?

Glad I coulld inspire you...I was inspired by someone online back in July to start this journey.

I actually ordered 4 snp tests yesterday:  Z49, Z367, Z142, Z34.  I know that's not the smartest way to do it financially but it will speed things up.

I think that's your answer Mitchell.  It will be tested when they get Geno 2.0 tests to go along with it.

Yes, it's true that batch results from various kits can arrive weeks apart.

I haven't read an official reason for this disparity but I gather that some samples are simply faster to process than others. I know that my original 2008 samples used to take ages to return results -- I think I was often last man home in my batch, a long time after others -- but since sending new samples when I ordered Family Finder all of my results now tend to arrive early or "on time".  I took particular care to scrape well with my second set of samples.

If FTDNA gets inconclusive results from a given kit they will re-run the test up to 3 times (IIRC) before requesting a new set of samples.

So, that can be one reason. There are probably others, including the size of the batch.

I ordered FF in 2010 when it was a new product. I was batched on Feb 17 and completed on August 8, so it sure took a long time back then!
