Hi,

FTDNA is showing a "Completed" status for my Z2105 SNP test.  I belong to the R1b1 group and also the Polish Project - they both now list that I am Z2105+.  Why doesn't FTDNA list the results on their website?  I cannot find them anywhere else on my account.  Nor did I receive am email notification. 

Any information on Z2105+ is appreciated - for instance: does this positive result show a Southwest Asian link to Europe?  I know it's a new SNP.  I hope my testing also helps the R1b community.  I will most likely test Geno 2.0 early next year as I hear rumors that FTDNA will offer the test.  Hopefully they will test downstream of Z2105.

Did you check the top of your Haplotree page? That is where FTDNA lists the SNP test results.

It lists haplogroup " - " test taken "z2105+". Which I assume is the result.

Congratulations.

You will find your listed snp's; in the YDNA result's snp section of the Polish Project and also, when you go to the ydna haplotree for example I'm listed as

Your Haplogroup    Tests Taken
R1b1a2a1    Z2105+ L150+ L584- L51- L277-

The next step is to see if you are L584 or L277.

You are now part of a very broad and diverse group of z2105, that spans from Western Europe to India. It is true that we are very small in number and sparsely spread across many countries  when compared to the other groups. We are found in England, Switzerland, Albania, Italy, Silesia,Germany,Poland, Ukraine, Transcaucasia,Turkey,Iraq,Iran,India. It seems our branch of R1b really got around for whatever reasons.

 The West Asian area[Transcaucasia,Armenia, North West Iran, North Iraq,] is dominated by pockets of Z2105.

The close distance between are evident, West-Asian_North Europe are on one branch, Red Sea on another.

I would speculate more of a West Asian link. Southwest Asia is very dense in R-M429 also known as IJ also known as I in Europe. To simplify the labeling they should convert the I to J in Europe; for example Haplogroup I-M253 (M253, M307, P30, P40)simplified would be J-M253, since both come from the same node,[just my personal opinion].

Here is a Dendrogram by Dienekes, I don't know how accurate it is, however the Red Sea[Arabia Felix] area is typically dominated by[IJ] R-M429.


 The West Asian area[Transcaucasia,Armenia, North West Iran, North Iraq,] is dominated by pockets of Z2105.

The close distance between are evident, West-Asian_North Europe are on one branch, Red Sea on another.

The IJ split is most likely so old, linking hg I with any place outside Europe/Russia and a couple pockets in the Caucasus mountains is meaningless. I would say that hg J1/J2, as well as G1/G2 are far more Trans-Caucasus related.

Since they haven't given me a haplogroup, what haplogroup would Z2105+ classify? 

I will test Z277 and L584.

 I have a hard time believing the 10,000 to 20,000 age dates commonly thrown around with the descendants of R-M429 and Europe.

Ftdna only has me listed as m-269 predicted.  Since I tested z2105+ how defined does that make my haplogroup?  For instance, am I now r1b1a2a2?

Of course you are like me R-Z2105+, but I am also L277- and L584- by 23andMe. You should test almost these two SNPs either by 23andMe, or from FTDNA or Geno 2.0 if they test them, but I don’t know so far.
