Collaboration is a key ingredient in any form of research and genealogical research is certainly no exception. Making connections is greatly enhanced by increasing one’s contact base. To that end, the admin teams from the Inman Compendium (
http://www.inman-family.org) and the Inman Surname DNA Project are pleased to announce the creation of a new message board at the Inman Compendium dedicated to genetic genealogy. This will serve to advance the stated purpose of the Inman Surname DNA Project:
- Help researchers from common or related families work together to find their shared heritage.
- Identify how the participant's families are connected, both genetically and through paper trails.
- Identify and confirm genetic Lineages of ancestral families.
- Ultimately catalog pedigrees and genetic connections of all of the known project families.
Those who are already Inman Compendium members and have access to that project’s message boards are good to go. For those who require access, please contact Shannon (Inman Compendium Message Board admin) via email at
shanifaye@gmail.com.
You can access the Inman Compendium Message Boards at
http://inman.techsavy.net/index.php. Once there, scan down the page to the heading “Genealogy DNA.”
Shannon suggested that a good way to get things rolling would be to post how DNA has advanced your genealogical research. This will serve to break the ice and to stimulate some initial discussion. Do take some time to review the “Board Guidelines” under the “Introduction” heading to ensure compliance with message board rules.
