In 1852, the smack 'Isabella' sailed from Kircubbin for the U.S.A.
The 'Isabella' had 2 Captains to sail her, brothers Capt. James McVea and Capt Charles McVea. It took about 4 weeks. Capt Charles McVea owned the schooners 'Mary McVea' and 'E J McVea'. The McVea's set up a fleet of schooners and traded on the Great Lakes.

John Warnock, who was part owner of the smack 'Isabella' and was related to the McVea's, did not leave for the U.S on the 'Isabella', but came later, in 1864, to Beechwoods Homestead, Saugatuck, Allegan Co., Michigan. Capt. John Warnock's family did come to the U.S on the smack 'Isabella,' under Sea Captain James McVea, and Sea Capt. Charles McVea, his nephews.
