The finds consist of 36 fragments, most of them apparently the broken-off remnants of modeled animals, and come from the site on the Adriatic coast. The archaeologists believe that they were the products of an artistic culture which sprang up in the region about 17,500 years ago. Their ceramic art flourished for about 2,500 years, but then disappeared.

Perhaps pre R1b in Europe, but I found it interesting....comments??

Odds of it being R1b are probably slim to none. The haplogroup was probably just starting to emerge around the Caucasus region.

Perhaps you should go to read what I wrote last years about the Adriatic submerged during the last glacial, which was one of the points of my theory of the "Italian Refugium", and probably, later, also something about the pile dwellers I hypothesized born in the Adriatic coast thousands of years before the most ancient findings (Varese Lake, 6500YBP).
