Hello Sheets Family,
I have made new discoveries pertaining specifically to the Sheets Lineage #5, as well as the Sheets lines that I labelled as the 'Shooter' lines in my last post (R1b1a2). However I will not be dealing with the Shooter line discoveries in this post, that will come later.
So this may be a shock to those of the Sheets Lineage #5... but our surname was not originally Sheets or Schutz! It starts with Hermann Schutz, born 1632, who officially took Schutz as a surname from his father, Christoph Sinold Gen. Schutz, born 1594.
Christoph was a treasurer and government official of Hesse, Germany. His forefathers were mayors and government officials of the same area, all the way back to Simon Synnold Gen. Schutz who was Mayor/Sherriff of Biedenkopf. Simon was the first to add 'Gen. Schutz' to the end of his name, which meant "General Contactor". His sons continued until Hermann dropped 'Sinold' and just used 'Schutz'.
But that's not all!.. Sinold wasn't the original surname of our line either! Let me explain.
The 'Sinold' of our line started with Tristram Sinold von Rosenbach, born 1330. Before him the surname was von Rosenbach. The Rosenbach family was of ancient Frankish nobility, though I haven't been able to trace the line back to France.
I've included these links, which are translated from German, as references:http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dschultheiss%2Bin%2BBiedenkopf%2B1472%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26biw%3D1311%26bih%3D617%26prmd%3Dimvns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=de&twu=1&u=http://familie-reuffurth-und-verwandte.de/Familie%2520Reuffurth%2520und%2520Verwandte/ab8805.htm&usg=ALkJrhjGrqo8lNvDb1iLmea_6quHf0GyGAhttp://www.geni.com/people/Simon-Synnolt-gen-Schutz/6000000015753751932http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosenbach_(Adelsgeschlecht)&prev=/search%3Fq%3DSir%2BConrad%2BSinold%2Bvon%2BRosenbach%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26biw%3D1311%26bih%3D617%26prmd%3Dimvnso&sa=X&ei=RFwZUI6LLqf50gGcq4GgDg&sqi=2&ved=0CFYQ7gEwAg
Other Sheets lines could be included in this Rosenbach lineage as well, I am not sure at this time. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer.
