Family tradtion states that a Daniel Myers was the father of Elias Myers; however, no census shows a Daniel Myers living in Knox County or Licking County in that time frame. The name could have been fabricated to protect Rhoda and Elias, or there could have been a divorce of Daniel and Rhoda which would have been kept quiet in that era. Rhoda could also have been the child of a Myers. Rhoda married James I. Clutter August 18, 1842. There is a census that shows an Elias Clutter in the family that is the same age as one of his half  siblings. Elias Myers’s obit states that he had half-brothers and half-sisters, so he must have been an only child.
